The Weekly Top X- Holy Hobby!

So El Jeffe (Lauby to those who are not in the know) decided he needed a break. Maybe he is off paying attention to SpecialLadyFriend, or maybe he took a road trip to get himself a bottle (or ten) of Thomas Tew rum. Maybe, just maybe, he's off doing some HOBBY stuff.

I know he loves him some hobby. So do I.

Despite Von's accusations that I "like writing about RPGs", I have other interests.

I figured cheesecake shots of dudes would not go over well here.

I LOVE me some hobby stuff. I figured I'd let you see just what kind of stuff I found this week. I was more than a little impressed to see a lot of awesome people taking on great projects this week. I mean, I'd heard that hobby was something close to dead; what with 6th Edition on the horizon and everyone burning out.

Let's see how wrong those rumors were...

1. IDICBeer  -- Necron Flyer Unboxing

I figured I would start out with some Xenos for my favorite alien, 'cause I know he has some serious need for hobby and otherwordly stuff. This has it all, plus: spaceships/flying things!

2. Arlequin's Worlds  -- Partizan Show

Here's a great look at a local British Expo, with discussions of the various games displayed and the clubs that put on the displays and demonstrations. I especially enjoyed his rundown of what he liked and didn't; an honest look at a show, convention or tournament is always cool. Plus, there were a ton of fabulous pictures of historical games, a much underserved/blogged about section of our hobby.

3. Scotty's Workshop  -- A Few WIPs

I was so encouraged to see a post like this- a guy using a long weekend to get some paint on some figures and enjoying the process. I think we all need a little more paint!

4. Rust and the City -- Pegleg the Ork Pirate

This post is just extra full of win. It's a finished fig (woot!), it's an ork (who doesn't love orks!) and, it's a pirate (SO.AWESOME.). I had to include it.

5. Cupboard of Nurgle  -- Dorn's Finished Thunderwolf

This was pretty cool to see. I have always struggled with fur, and this was more than an excellent job; it's lovely and primal. Awesome pose and great painting made this a must.

6. Scratchbuilt 40K  -- Making the Fluff Fit Your Army

An inventive and intuitive way to keep an army alive, even in the light of the way it looks Chaos will be treated by GW. Maybe a little "counts as" isn't so bad, after all.

7.  Daan of War -- Decimated

I love Chaos. I love big honkin' machines of war. I love modeling, great poses and all that goes with making them awesome.

8. Mini Army, Huge Time Sink  -- Vlad the Dark Champion

Oh, my dark prince; how lovely you will be when you are finished...

This WIP shows off Khador's assasin royalty before he's fully complete, but that's the beauty of a WIP; it's not done yet.

9. Pulp City  -- Crimson Oni

The figure is dead sexy and the paint job's even better. Awesome lining, definition and the skin tone is amazing. Be sure to check this out!

10. War Gamer Hub  -- First Attempt With Weathering Powders

The hazard stripes seem to be the way to go with those blades, making this a badass Vindy that just oozes massive "c'mon" vibes.

While all that hobby is super cool, I figured you needed one more thing to ogle, so be sure to check this out...

I gotta throw a brunette in there for those of you that like those things...

That's it for this week... Peace out girl scout...
